TERRAS ALTAS 2018
RED WINE
D.O.C. DÃO
Winemaker and member of the 5th generation of the family, Antonio Porto Soares Franco was known for his extraordinary sense of smell. During his visits to Dão region, he used to visit a vine which he had a special affection for. In 1968, António Porto Soares Franco passed away and the vine also died that same year. This vine can be visited in the José Maria da Fonseca Manor House, in Azeitão. This history that inspires Terras Altas wine comes from our special connection to the earth that still remains in all our wines.
This wine made its debut in the 1950s with the bottling being undertaken at our winery in Alcafache in the Dão wine region. In 1996 the ageing process and the bottling of Terras Altas was transferred to the Azeitão winery.
