Six Sides, Six Grapes, Six Generations:
a Super Premium wine from José Maria
da Fonseca. Six sides but also six grape varieties and six generations. Produced from
Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinto Cão, Syrah and Tannat, all
planted in our vineyards on the Setubal Peninsula.
The grapes were foot-trodden in stainless steel presses and fermented for six days
with full skin contact at temperatures of 28ºC. The alcoholic fermentation was
finished in oak casks and underwent battonage for the next 3 months. This was
followed by 12 months aging in new French oak casks.
Hexagon embodies the pursuit of excellence that has inspired the Soares Franco
family throughout time. A powerful and a complex wine, with a limited production of
11,809 traditional size bottles and 305 Magnums.

The grapes are foot-trodden in stainless steel presses and fermented with full skin contact at temperatures of 28ºC for 6 days. The alcoholic fermentation is finished in oak casks. It undergoes bâtonnage for the next 3 months.

10 months in new French oak casks.

Should be decanted and served with game and cheese at a temperature of 16ºC. This wine may throw sediment with age.
